Kara Yamaguchi is an Australian of American and Japanese descent now living in Japan. After graduating from the University of Sydney in 1988, she worked for ten years as a teacher, writer, and arts administrator,
holding positions with NHK television, Keio, the Ministry of Education and the Japan Foundation. Kara is also an artist and
photographer conducting eco-art workshops for children to promote awareness about the environment. The main body of her current work is a project to document and research the sacred sites of ancient Japan. She is active in educating about the
archeological and spiritual importance of these sacred sites to ensure they are protected for future generations.
